Course Objectives This course will explore a range of religious traditions in South Asia (Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka) and East Asia (China and Japan) including Hinduism, Buddhism (South and East Asian), Confucianism, Daoism, and Shinto. We will concentrate on these religions in traditional times in order to understand better the historical foundations that have influenced much of what these cultures are today.
