Course Objectives
This course aims to introduce students to Korean media culture and its contexts. In particular, we will examine the meaning of media and popular culture and its cultural changes in contemporary Korea through various emerging trends and methodological tools. This course has two primary objectives: to prepare students to 1) to critically read and analyze contemporary Korean media culture in relation to various scholarly theory, and 2) examine the implication of cultural text and its cultural history with studentsí own critical perspective.
