Ms. Teng currently teaches Chinese 2201-2202 (intermediate level), and Chinese 4411-4412 (advanced reading course), which focuses on Chinese fiction reading. She has also worked as an editor at Department of Literature and History in Beijing Publishing House, and as a journalist and an editor for the magazine University Students in Beijing Publishing House.

She also serves as the director of the Department of Asian Studies departmental pre-semester Teaching Assistant Training Workshop which runs every August before the fall semester begins. This workshop is intended for teaching assistants who are teaching in the Asian languages programs for the first time. The workshop provides valuable information to the teaching assistants on how to successfully run discussion sections, grade exams and homework, and work in team-teaching situations, etc.
