Ms. George received her MA in TESOL in 1992 from the University of Arizona and her BA in English in 1983 from the China University of Petroleum.

Ms. George is a native speaker of Chinese, near-native fluency in English, advanced Cantonese, and intermediate Japanese. She is a member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA).

Courses she has taught at Cornell include Chinese 3304, Advanced Conversational Mandarin; Chinese 2215, Mandarin for Cantonese Speakers; Chinese 2209/2210, Intermediate Mandarin Reading and Writing; and English as a Second Language.

Teaching materials developed include A Love Letter to Cornell (in collaboration with Stephanie Divo, 2001). A supplementary reading textbook compiled from memoir essays written by Cornell alumni for Cornell students of intermediate Chinese.
