The Department of Asian Studies invites applications for a three-quarter time Lecturer position in
Korean language beginning July 1, 2008. One-year probationary contract (at full-time)with
three-year renewable contract to follow contingent upon merit and the continued availability of
program funding.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree and native speaker level competency in Korean is
required, as is prior college-level teaching experience and ability to teach all levels of Korean.
Also required is an explicit understanding of the linguistic properties of Korean; knowledge of the
cultural background necessary to teach the language; familarity with language-teaching methodologies,
including technology-related pedagogy, and ability to work both in a team and autonomously at all
levels of the language. Supervisory experience preferred.
