LRC welcomes new team member Ashley Griffith

The Language Resource Center (LRC) welcomes a new team member, Ashley Griffith. As the LRC Engagement and Outreach Coordinator, she will coordinate and promote special language learning initiatives such as conversation hours, language tutoring, World Languages Day, Lingua Mater, and Sweet Poetry.

Ashley is from York, Pennsylvania, the nation's first capital, snack food capital of the world, and birthplace of Harley Davidson.

After graduating from high school, she attended Messiah University, studying German and Education. She also earned her minor in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages). During her junior year of undergraduate studies, she lived and learned in Munich, Germany, at the Ludwig Maximillian Universität München.

Ashley loves to travel and has visited several countries abroad with hopes to see many more.

After graduating from Messiah, Ashley began teaching German and ESL at a large rural high school in Central Pennsylvania. As an educator, she passionately shared her love of language and culture with hundreds of students every year. She also hosted her school's first LGBTQia club.

She recently completed her Master of Education from York College of Pennsylvania with a specialization in diversity and resilience.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys hiking with her dog, kayaking, skiing, cooking, drinking coffee, and watching movies.

You can catch up with Ashley in G04A Stimson Hall or by emailing her directly at agriffith@cornell.edu
